What started as a personal search for answers became a journey of discovery.
After losing my father and becoming a father in the same year, I set out to better understand myself and the man who helped shape me.
Through conversations, memories, and a return to the places that defined my life, BIG BRYCE SON explores family, grief, legacy, and the relationships that continue to guide us long after our loved ones are gone.
WHY I MADE THIS FILM
When my father passed away, I realized there were parts of his story I still didn't know.
Creating BIG BRYCE SON became an opportunity to reconnect with his legacy while discovering more about myself. Along the way, I uncovered stories, friendships, and memories that reminded me how deeply our lives are shaped by the people who came before us.
My hope is that this film encourages others to reflect on their own family stories and the relationships that continue to influence who they are becoming.
THE JOURNEY
BIG BRYCE SON has been screened in numerous venues and festivals throughout the country, most notably Battle Creek, Michigan—my father's hometown.
Returning to Battle Creek allowed me to experience my father's story in a new light while sharing the film with the community that helped shape him.
